![]() It is also a 10 minute taxi ride from Nissi beach which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel is full of groups of boys and girls, all around the age of 20, so if you are a family looking to stay here DON’T! Location: The location of the hotel is very good, it’s about a 3-5 minutes walk from the strip and is close to a lot of good restaurants and cafes. (A quick tip: if you are willing to purchase air conditioning, only get one unit per room because although it is very off and on, it is quite effective when it is working and will cool the entire apartment with ease). They charge €56 per air conditioning unit for the week, regardless of this it broke on several occasions and we were refused any kind of refund or compensation. The room was outdated, dirty and one of the beds was a pullout mattress. We ended up relying on a fellow guest to show us our room, which reflects badly on the hotel. We weren’t told any details about where are room was which was annoying because it was such a big hotel. We were handed our key and sent on our way. We were asked to leave our passports behind reception for 24 hours and I mean literally behind the desk, anyone could have walked in and taken any of the passports, they weren’t kept in any kind of safe. The receptionists were nice enough, although their English wasn’t great. We entered a modern looking lobby and were honestly impressed at first. Six friends and I checked into the Anthea Apartments Hotel in Ayia Napa in July 2018. Also- general point Aiya Napa is really on the more dangerous side and reps say around 1 person dies on the strip a week so, keep your wits about you as people staying in the hotel tried to start fights with our group and may I note that someone died at Anthea in June 2018 from falling off the balcony. The cleaners didn't steal any of our stuff even though I wouldn't put it past, probably would be best to rent a safe or put money in the pans in the kitchen in the top cupboard. All I can say is it was a bed at the end of the day and the main hotel block is lush compared so definitely request. The pool outside the unrefurbed block which is the 100s and 200s ( we were in 148 and 149 ) was filthy it was filled with nos canisters and cups and hoop earrings! Ear-splitting drum and bass was played from 7am to 8pm but to be fair to the hotel the main pool was nice and the actual pool was bigger and quieter. There was a slight gap under the door which meant bugs could stroll in and we got visited by COCKROACHES and ants over our stay. The decor was stuck in the 70s but the big thing for us was the lack of cleanliness- the sheets were not changed once in a week and rubbish wasn't taken. Regardless, the room did the job for a lads holiday despite chunks of plaster and paint missing from the walls and the doorknob falling off. However, after spending 56 euros on aircon in ONE room between the bedroom and living room which would cut off randomly and we had to trek to reception to find out about a system fault! ( we did get it working in the end) - keep the receipt and if all else fails there's a panel in the wall so flick the big fuse switch and see what happens. When we arrived at Anthea we were pleasantly surprised to see a clean, white exterior and interior. ![]()
